Lots of figs and vegs! homegrown Pre-picked cantaloupes for sale now!

7/4/2023

Shifting to our mid-season scheduling, so will be only open about three days per week for a while. Schedule for this week: Open Wednesday 7/5/23 7:30am-1:00pm AND Saturday 7/8/23 7:30am-1:00pm. CHECK WEBSITE HOMEPAGE BEFORE YOU COME OUT TO BE SURE WE ARE OPEN. Very slim picking in blackberries—a few may be found if you look hard enough. Celeste figs are LOADED, and LSU Gold figs are producing well. Muscadine grapes are still a few weeks from ripening. Heat is also affecting the veggies, so currently available for U-Pick: yellow squash, scallop squash, zucchini, okra (few), carrots, slicing cucumbers (few), radishes, peppers, tomatoes (any color ok to pick), zinnias and LOTS of eggplant, and green onion bulbs for planting. Our homegrown cantaloupes, butternut squash, acorn squash, cushaw and melons are sold pre-picked, but not for U-Pick. Bring CLIPPERS to cut zinnias, bell peppers, and eggplant. PLEASE DON’T PICK SQUASH BLOSSOMS. PLEASE CHECK IN AT MARKET before picking. Pickers must check-in before 12:30pm and weigh/pay by 1:00pm sharp closing time. CASH/MC/VISA/AMEX accepted for all purchases, but check-in is usually quicker with cash. No pets/No checks please. Sorry, no picnic areas. You may bring your own box but please line with plastic bag for removal when weighing. This farm is our livelihood, so every ounce counts—PLEASE WEIGH AND PAY BEFORE EATING. 21104 Binford Rd., Waller, TX 77484

LSU Gold figs are in their prime picking time now. Not as sweet as Celeste, but great for grilling, salads, preserves and fresh eating.
