Vegetables are coming along nicely--at lunch yesterday, we put one of the Jalapenos on a scale, and 7 of them will make a pound! The March 17th freeze put the blackberries behind just a bit, but they are loving these recent rains and warmer weather. That same freeze "pruned" the tops off the flowers, so that just made them branch more, which makes more blooms! The fig trees were in full bloom as the freeze set in, and the fig crop was decimated. Sorry, but we will no longer offer FIGS for U-Pick or pre-picked. If you have followed our fig production over the years, so will know just how "iffy" the crop production always is, and this year is no exception. We will pick any future figs and have outside contract sales for the crop and the leaves when they are available. When we open this spring (2026), we will offer a limited quantity of potted FIG TREES for sale, propagated from cuttings of our large fig trees, so you can GROW YOUR OWN TREES of the same varieties you have picked from here in some past years. See picture below for some of the potted plants that will be available when we open. We also have removed most of the peach and nectarine trees (due to age of trees and, again, the dreaded "iffy" production), and YEA! are planting two 750' rows of the fabulous "Caddo" thornless blackberries. So, no more U-Pick peaches or nectarines, but MORE blackberries near the market. Y'all will be glad to know 2026 prices remain the same as 2025, and you may still bring your own containers, or purchase our boxes. Once again, we will be partnering with Trosi Farms, who also has a farm in Elgin, TX. Y'all get your pickin' boxes dusted off for our season opening the first or second weekend in May! Oat plants just to the left of the zinnias. These are oats just like you eat in oatmeal, but we plant them as a winter cover crop and till them in when they go to seed, as you see here. Cover crops are an important part of our soil regeneration program.

Sunflowers in many different sizes and color combos this year! Sunflowers are not priced per stem as they have been in the past, just cut them and put them in the $5 Solo cup with the other flowers!

Green onions just like these will be for sale prepicked in the market. A different variety (multiplying) of Green Onions is available for U-Pick.

Our 2025 season should open sometime early May, date undetermined at this time. Freedom (our earliest ripening thornless blackberries) just starting to get a bit of color. Vegs are looking good but still need more time to ripen. For U-Pick, we will start the season with yellow squash, zucchini, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, and lots more. A few zinnias are open, and they should be in full bloom for cutting in a few weeks. We planted a wild mix of zinnias, along with several more varieties of flowers new to us, so you should be able to cut some gorgeous bouquets! This year we are partnering with the farmer from Trosi Farms, so look for some exciting new changes taking place here in Waller! "Community Supported Agriculture" (CSA) is a program whereby enrolled members pre-pay to receive shares of produce, picked up usually bi-weekly, to experience our farm seasonally. We won't know if we can offer this CSA program until fall crops start producing and we see what we will have available.
