Blackberry season in full swing! open 5/26/21

5/25/2021

Wonderful crowd we had out picking today, but still lots of thornless blackberries, veggies and flowers for picking tomorrow (Wed. 5/26/21 -OPEN 7:30am til 1:00pm). Peaches got picked out pretty well today , but there MIGHT be a scattered few for tomorrow. Grounds will be wet, so just wear your rain boots and enjoy the 70-80 degree temps! Available for U-Pick: Blackberries, yellow squash, zucchini (yellow/green), spaghetti sq., acorn sq., beets, peppers, kale, dinosaur kale, green onions, carrots, cucumbers, sunflowers, zinnias, and MAYBE a few peaches. Tomatoes need another week or so to ripen. Please bring your garden shears/clippers to cut flowers and some vegs. Pickers check in before 12:30pm to pick, weigh and pay by our 1:00pm sharp closing time. Entry: $2/ea age 2 yr. and up. Re-usable fruit picking box $2/ea. Fruit price: $5.00/lb. Heavy-duty Vegetable picking bag $.50 ea, or use thin free plastic bag. Veg price: $2.00/lb except cabbage ($4/head). FYI: Binford Rd. is under construction between HWY 290 and FM 2920, so if 290/Binford exit is closed off, exit Kickapoo or FM 2920. Farm subject to being picked out or rained out, so ALWAYS check Facebook or this "Updates" page before coming. See other tabs on this website for pricing, maps, history, etc. This week is the first of a 2 or maybe 3 week PEAK blackberry season, so if you want to pick a lot of berries quickly, now is the time to come. Our first blackberry variety is about over, second one in full production, and the other 3 main varieties are just beginning to overlap with them. Don't wait too long or you will miss out on blackberries til next year!

Pickers enjoying the day at the farm. Rain boots like the ladies on the far right are wearing are definitely in style here after the recent rains.

Boxes of fruit picked by a customer 5-25-21. Blackberry season is just beginning to peak, and should remain in peak for 2 or 3 weeks, but peach season only lasted a very short time.
