best weekend for easy & fast berry picking!!

6/5/2024

Second week of PEAK BLACKBERRY SEASON this weekend Fri-Sat-Sun, June 7-8-9, 2024, 7:30am-1:00pm. We will have U-Pick thornless blackberries for a few more weeks, but production will slow starting next week and the picking won’t be as fast and easy as it is now. So this weekend will be your last chance for PEAK berry season, when blackberries are most abundant! This weekend we will also have Pre-Picked home-grown freestone PEACHES for sale, along with U-Pick veggies: various squash, green onions, peppers, cucumbers, eggplant, tomatoes, a few sunflowers, and first of the season U-Pick ZINNIAS. Green tomatoes may only be picked between the two pick flags tied to the tomato fence (see photo), where you find delicious low-acid BHN-871 tomatoes that turn yellow when ripe, but make the perfect fried green tomato due to their firmness and lack of gel around the seeds. Ripening red tomatoes and cherry tomatoes may be picked anywhere on the tomato fences. PLEASE BRING SHEARS for cutting zinnias, sunflowers and eggplant, and as always, you may bring your own fruit/veg picking container or purchase ours. Sorry, no U-Pick peaches or any other fruit besides blackberries at this time. Admission $3.00, most U-Pick vegs $3.00/lb., sunflowers $1/stem, zinnias $3.00/Solo cup, picking box $3.00. Pickers must check in before 12:30 pm and weigh/pay by 1:00pm closing time. If weather forces a closure, we will post news on this website homepage as soon as we know, and on Facebook, so always check those sites before you come out to be sure we are open.
