Farm and market is expected to be open Sat. 5/16/20, regular hours from 7:30am til 1:00pm. U-Pick will be only available for thornless blackberries, but NO VEGETABLE PICKING due to rain we received this afternoon. The berry fields are covered in grass and drain much better than the plowed ground in the vegetable fields, as you can see in these photos taken 6:00 pm Friday 5/15/20 after the rain.
Tex-Star Peaches still maturing, but not ready for the farmer to pick and sell in the market. They have color, but will about double in size when they are fully mature. This is one reason we don't have U-Pick peaches--just because they have color, doesn't mean they are anywhere near ready to pick. The farmer will pick them at the optimum time.
This one's for all you fig lovers who have been asking how the figs are coming along. These are Celeste, still dripping with rain from our storm this afternoon 5/15/20. The farmer says the Celeste will be the first variety ready, and they are bigger than ever before, possibly because the trees are more mature. So it is looking great so far for the Celeste variety.
