memorial day weekend schedule

5/21/2026

Blackberry Cobbler and Ratatouille are both timely menu options for Memorial Day weekend! We will be open Fri., Sat., and Sunday May 22, 23, and 24, 2026 (7:30am-1:00pm), unless we get rained out. We do allow blackberry picking in light rain, as long as there is no lightning, or threat of lightning. If it totally pours, we may have to close, so check the website Homepage or Facebook for the most current updates before you drive out. (WE WILL NOT BE OPEN MONDAY, MEMORIAL DAY.)
THIS WEEKEND:
*LOTS of U-Pick thornless blackberries and flowers. Vegetables and herbs continue to be sold pre-picked in the market. For making Ratatouille, fill your basket with pre-picked: eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash, roma tomatoes, basil and thyme from our market.  Lots of other vegs available in the market too!
*PRICES (same as 2025, despite rising costs for us):
*Entry: $3/person age 2 yrs and up
*U-Pick Blackberries: $7/lb.

*NEW THIS YEAR: Orchard is permanently closed for U-PICK please Keep Out of that area. The only FRUITS we will have for U-Pick will be Blackberries and MAYBE muscadine grapes (late season). Many orchard trees aged out of decent production, so most were removed and we will be planting MORE Caddo Blackberries in their place.

BRING: Hat - Sunscreen - insect repellent - Shears or clippers to cut flowers and sunflowers. Closed-toed shoes are advised. We furnish kindergarten-type scissors, but they only are useful on very thin floral stems.
Sorry, no picnic area. Please watch children closely near the 3 DEEP irrigation ponds.
Before you come, ALWAYS CHECK this website or our Facebook page for updates!

RATATOUILLE

Ratatouille is one of the few things in life you CAN actually have “your way.” Just add as much as you like of each vegetable to make the desired quantity.

Fry and drain 1 lb. pan sausage, or chopped link sausage, or whatever you have. For  vegan, omit the meat and just heat a little olive oil in a large frying pan. Saute one chopped onion and a small bell pepper. While this is cooking, peel and chop one or two eggplants, summer squash (zucchini and/or yellow), about 6 Roma tomatoes, and add them to the frying pan, along with sweet basil, thyme, black pepper, and garlic.  Add a little water mixed with Caldo de Pollo (omit for vegan) and cook on medium heat, stirring frequently, until veggies are tender. The veggies release so much water, so add minimal water for a stew, a little more water for soup consistency. Turn heat to low, cover skillet, and simmer until all is soft and well-blended. Salt to taste after completion.
