We hope to open the 2026 Season on May 8, 9, 10th, but there won't be very many ripe blackberries yet at that time. The March 17 freeze damaged the ones that would have been ripening now, and more cool temps this week will slow the ripening even more. Pictured here is the ONLY ripe blackberry I saw today on an entire row of the Prime-Ark Freedoms, which are our earliest producers. Lots of ripe berries coming, but just not as early as usual. Veggies and flowers are doing great, and will need to be picked by the second weekend in May, so we expect to open whether the blackberries are ready or not. Hours for the season will be 7:30am-1:00 pm, usually Friday, Saturday, and Sunday unless we get picked out or (very seldom) rained out. Waller, TX 77484 @Trosifarms  The only ripe blackberry on a whole row of Prime-Ark Freedoms, our earliest producer. There were only about 10 RED berries on the row as well. Photo 4-25-26  TONS of blackberries are at this immature green stage, with an occasional pink-tinted berry. The berries get much larger as they mature and ripen. Photo 4-25-26 Just a little preview of our coming season! Vegetables are coming along nicely--at lunch yesterday, we put one of the Jalapenos on a scale, and 7 of them will make a pound! The March 17th freeze put the blackberries behind just a bit, but they are loving these recent rains and warmer weather. That same freeze "pruned" the tops off the flowers, so that just made them branch more, which makes more blooms! The fig trees were in full bloom as the freeze set in, and the fig crop was decimated. Sorry, but we will no longer offer FIGS for U-Pick or pre-picked. If you have followed our fig production over the years, so will know just how "iffy" the crop production always is, and this year is no exception. We will pick any future figs and have outside contract sales for the crop and the leaves when they are available. When we open this spring (2026), we will offer a limited quantity of potted FIG TREES for sale, propagated from cuttings of our large fig trees, so you can GROW YOUR OWN TREES of the same varieties you have picked from here in some past years. See picture below for some of the potted plants that will be available when we open. We also have removed most of the peach and nectarine trees (due to age of trees and, again, the dreaded "iffy" production), and YEA! are planting two 750' rows of the fabulous "Caddo" thornless blackberries. So, no more U-Pick peaches or nectarines, but MORE blackberries near the market. Y'all will be glad to know 2026 prices remain the same as 2025, and you may still bring your own containers, or purchase our boxes. Once again, we will be partnering with Trosi Farms, who also has a farm in Elgin, TX. Y'all get your pickin' boxes dusted off for our season opening the first or second weekend in May!
